HP Tuners Upgraded T87A Installation

If you have purchased the T87A TCM for a 2017+ Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 6.6L Duramax (L5P), install the TCM now—no additional steps are required.

For all other vehicles, follow the installation steps below before installing your upgraded TCM.

Installation Steps for Non-2017+ L5P Vehicles

1. Download and Install the Latest VCM Suite BETA

   • Ensure you are using the latest VCM Suite BETA for compatibility.

2. Perform the "Replace TCM" Special Function in VCM Scanner

   Step 1: Read and Prepare for TCM Replacement

   • Connect VCM Scanner to the vehicle with the stock TCM installed.
   • Open Vehicle Controls & Special Functions.
   • Navigate to System > General and select Replace TCM.
   • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Replace TCM process for the stock TCM.

3. Step 2: Install the HP Tuners Upgraded TCM

   • When prompted, remove the stock TCM and install the HP Tuners upgraded TCM.
   • Reconnect VCM Scanner to the vehicle with the new TCM installed.
   • Open Vehicle Controls & Special Functions again.
   • Navigate to System > General and select Replace TCM.
   • Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the Replace TCM process for the new TCM.
