Reader Upload Request :x7F Negative Response Code Error

Problem

If you receive the error "Reader upload request :x7F negative response code," this likely means the vehicle has been previously tuned, and the ability to read the tune has been disabled.

Resolution

1. Start a Support Ticket

   • Submit a Support Ticket through our website.
     
     

2. Obtain a VCM Suite Infolog

   • While connected to the vehicle, generate a VCM Suite Infolog and attach it to the support ticket.
     
     

3. Locate and Prepare the Debug.dat File

   • Navigate to Documents > HP Tuners > Settings on your PC.
   • Locate the Debug.dat file and attach it to the support ticket.
     
     

Once submitted, our support team will review your case and provide further assistance.
